Participants will be informed on what and why it is important to do art & design research, the current trend in art & design research and how to prepare a good research proposal to boost the chances in securing a research grant either from government agencies or industries. 

 

After attending the workshop the participants should be able to prepare a good research proposal and keen to apply for art and design research grants either at national or international level or even both.

 

 

Main aims are:

 

a)      To highlight the importance of art and design research.

 

b)     To know the essentials of Art & Design grant opportunities and good research methodology when applying for national & international grants.

 

Topics to be discussed include:

 

1)         Types of Art & Design Research.

 

2)          Techniques of writing art & design research proposal

3)       Art & design research grant opportunities either at national or international level as well as from industrial linkages.

 

 

 

norfadilah binti kamaruddinAbout the Facilitator

Dr Norfadilah Kamaruddin is currently a Deputy Dean (Research and Industrial Linkages) at the Faculty of Arts & Design, Universiti Institut Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Her research interest is in the interface design & courseware development. The results of her research work can be found in papers published by her collaborators and her in international and national scientific journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. With that, her Google Scholar Hirch Impact Factor (h) and Citation Number values are 3 and 38, respectively.
