Date: 13 June 2012 (Wednesday)
Time: 7.30 p.m.
Venue: Experimental Theatre, FACA, UNIMAS

The Mini Film Festival is back for its 8th year!

This annual award ceremony night is organised by students from the Cinematography Programme of the Faculty of Applied and Creative Art (FACA), UNIMAS to recognise and celebrate the achievement of their fellow students in varied aspects of filmmaking. The event will be held in FACA’s newly renovated Experimental Theatre at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 13th June.

Apart from the above mentioned objectives, the 8th Mini Film Festival is hoped to provide the opportunity for the students of Cinematography Programme to organise the film festival which is ranging from mobilising the crew members to manoeuvring the planned efforts such as building up the set design, making montage for the festival, designing the poster and banner, as well as selection of trophies.

This year, the organiser welcome attendees to enjoy a ceremony presented with the theme “The Malaya 1950s”. Via this theme, the organisers hope to bridge today’s audience – and the young filmmakers in attendance – with the golden age of Malaysian Cinema that produce memorable performances from stars such as Saloma, Normadiah, Saadiah, Aziz Sattar, Nordin Ahmad and of course P. Ramlee, to name a few.

UNIMAS Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Professor Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman, and the Dean of FACA, Associate Professor Dr. Hasnizam Abdul Wahid, will both attend and officiate over the ceremony.

The steering committee of this festival cordially invites all film lovers and patrons of the arts to attend award ceremony. Admission is free. For further details, please contact Mr. Mohamamd Zafri (019 – 867 3065) or Ms. Syarifah Hanim (013 – 572 9240).
