Biodata

Rajan Thangaveloo is currently serving as a lecturer at the Department of Computer Systems and Communication Technologies of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. He received his Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Communications) from Politeknik Kuching Sarawak in 1993 and served in industry as a Technical Assistant at National Semiconductor (Penang) for about 3 years. In 1998 he completed his Diploma in Electrical Engineering (with Education) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and served as a lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Politeknik Kuching Sarawak from 1998 till 2003. He obtained his B.ENG (Hons) in Computer Engineering (2006) and MSc in Network Systems Engineering (2007) respectively from The University of Plymouth, UK. His current research interests involve Network Security, Mobile Threats, Computer Security, Big Data Services, Voice over IP (VOIP) and Network Monitoring and Performance.   
He has served in various committees at Faculty and University levels. At the moment he is appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Honorary) for Student Volunteer Police Reserve by Inspector General of Police since 2014.
