Working Experiences

  • Started as a clinical tutor/assistant surgeon in the Department of Surgery, Institute of Medicine II and I Yangon from 1971
  • Worked as a Registrar in the Urology Department of the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, UK and also as a Locum Registrar in Surgery in Swansea, UK in 1981 and 198
  • Worked as an official representative of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for Myanmar since 1991 and elected as a Member of the panel of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK since 1996 and taking part in the examinations of the College in Edinburgh and overseas centers

Teaching

Current Academic Responsibility

  • Teaching of surgery to undergraduate medical and nursing students of the FMHS, UNIMAS and also to post graduate students taking MS (Surgery) and MRCS courses. Chairing many CPCs and Seminars.
  • Co-ordinator for the surgery posting of year 5 medical students of FMHS, UNIMAS
  • Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in UK and also overseas centers

Research

Research Interests and Projects

  • Prostate disorders and Urolithiasis. Estimation of bladder wall thickness by Ultra sound in patients with bladder outlet obstruction due to BPE.
